OSH Histotechnology Education Consortium News

October, 2008 a new HT Education Consortium Class will begin online. Classes will meet online every other Saturday from 1 pm-4:30 pm, with assignments to complete during the week and e-mail to Theresa Schuldt, Instructor. We will meet approximately 4 times during the year to review H&E staining, sectioning, and special stains. I have space for 15 participants, with 7 spaces still open.

Supervisors, contact me at theresaschuldt@sbcglobal.net if there is additional information you need and I will e-mail a new agreement for the participants you want to register. Thank you, Theresa Schuldt, M.Ed, HT/HTL (ASCP)
Special Thank You

The OSH Histotechnology Education Consortium and Theresa Schuldt would like to add some thanks to the people and labs who have assisted in getting tissue for the class and to the registry exam.

If the need arises for additional techs to participate in a new histotechnology education group, a new one will be developed. The difference beginning in January 2005 is that the registry eligible techs will have to have 60 college credits completed with 12 of those credit hours being in a combination of biology and chemistry classes. If a registry eligible tech with less than the required college hours submitted their application before the 2004 deadline, then they can take the test. Always check with the ASCP Board of Registry about the length of time the application is valid.
